Happy 5th birthday to the Moon Litter - Mika's first litter, sired by Bart, Ch. Rysan's Just For Me. Charlie celebrated with a big cookie, baked by Caroline.
Peggy sent this recent photo of Charlie's sister Emmy enjoying a sunny winter day.
Thank you to Jeremy for these photos, enjoying some sunny fall days. Harper recently revealed her talent for climbing ladders, when Jeremy discovered she had followed him up to the attic.

November 23, 2009 - Show results for the Thanksgiving Cluster shows in W. Springfield, MA on the 21st and 22nd:
Holly took Reserve to 4- and 5-point majors. Caroline presented her well, and she was a little better with the judges than at previous shows, so we were not disappointed with Reserve. Both judges were very complimentary; Sunday's judge, Sandra Goose Allen, told Caroline that once Holly gets her tail up in the ring, she'll be great.
Charlie came along to keep Holly company. He's smiling at Tony behind the camera because he loves to have his picture taken.

Congratulations to all the winners:
Ch. Edgemoor's Stardust, who was Best of Breed each day
Truepenny Poems, Prayers and Promises, Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex on Saturday, Best of Winners on Sunday
Ch. Pennylane's Taylor Made, Best of Opposite Sex on Sunday
And special congratulations to new champion Briallu Simply Happy Cappy, "Captain," who finished with back-to-back majors and looked gorgeous doing so.
Redstone's Irish Cream also made his ring debut and did very well. He made sure to have fun and give Suzanne a few challenges along the way!
Several owners gathered on Sunday after showing for potluck and visiting - and that's what makes dog shows worthwhile.

Here's a new photo of Charlie Harris, Holly's littermate. (Holly has 2 brothers named Charlie.)

JoAnn sends more news about Daisy's Travels in Paris: "Daisy has quite the fan club among the waiters at the cafe on our block. They crouch down to pet her and tell her what a pretty girl she is. They shout Bonjour Daisy!"

New Pictures added of Tucson - Destiny's Almond Joy - and Copper - Destiny's Dark Chocolate.
First, here's Tucson. The first was taken around his 1st birthday, the others during a recent walk on the beach. Just look into those eyes!

Two weekends ago I drove with my son and daughters to Alexandria, VA for my nephew's wedding, and got the chance to visit Copper in nearby Fairfax. Thank you to Mary for letting me see how handsome and sweet he has turned out to be. He didn't seem to remember me - that always makes seeing my puppies somewhat bittersweet - but when Mary needed to go into the house before we went on a walk, I baby-talked with him and called him by his "nursery name" (Austin), and he came around.

Here's Daisy pictured in front of the Eiffel Tower, on her way home from the market. JoAnn reports that everyone says Daisy is trop mignonne -- that is, cute.

We hear that Daisy (Destiny's Snickers), from the Mika-Divot litter, has settled into her new life as a Parisian chienne. We are looking forward to a photo of Daisy in front of the Eiffel Tower. We don't know if she has learned to bark in French yet.
Daisy isn't the only international dog: Blue (Destiny's Joyous Daybreak) and his family moved last month to the city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Holly and Caroline completed their second agility course last week, and their instructor, the incredible Nicole Levesque, invited them to "skip a grade" and join a more advanced group. (They ended up staying with the same class since it's smaller.) Holly is a whiz at the contacts and loves to jump, which we limit because of her age. She readily takes the tunnel. Tonight they worked on rear crosses, the dog walk, and the A-frame. Holly stays focused on Caroline and loves to work for her.
I'm proud of my girls!
More birthday photos: Harper Olssen from the Mika-Divot litter celebrates her first birthday with cake and a biscuit. Plus, she makes a visit to the Maritime Museum.

To celebrate her first birthday, Holly competed at the New England Sporting Group Association match in Manchester, CT today, taking 3rd in the adult group with Caroline showing. (Now that Caroline is home from her trip to Korea, she has taken back the leash, so-to-speak.) Thank you to Trevor, age 10, for taking this picture.

Thank you to Rob for sending these pictures of Bonnie (Destiny's Love Me Tender), from the Elena-Bart litter.

Bonnie celebrates her 2nd birthday in style

Mika and Elena competed today in the veterans class, with Mika taking first. Congratulations to Mika's brother, Ch. Daytime Samson Maelgwyn, for winning Best Veteran in Breed.
July 2, 2009
Holly competed in her third show today, the first since her ignominious debut weekend in March. She still wasn't crazy about the judge, but she gaited well, and took Winners Bitch for her first championship point. She was also Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Breed. Not bad for our little girl.

Today we celebrated Elena's 8th birthday (the candles are a 7 and a 1). I thought the cake was vanilla under all that frosting, but since it was chocolate, each dog got only a tiny sliver.
Being the birthday girl, Elena had the first piece, but Mika wasn't about to miss out.

Elena waits for us to finish singing "Happy Birthday"
Mika keeps an eye on the table

Mika is ready for her piece

Today Beedle passed his Canine Good Citizen test and is now officially Destiny's Beautiful Symphony CGC. Congratulations! Beedle is sired by AM/CAN Ch. Alzahna's Morgan Silverstone out of Ch. Daytime Destiny's Red Moon CGC.

Jeremy Olsson sent these pictures of Harper, "Destiny's Lemon Drop," having fun at the beach in New Hampshire. Harper likes to blow bubbles in the water!

March 2009
OFA results have come back for Blue (Destiny's Joyous Daybreak). His hips are good and elbows and thyroid are normal. Thank you to Blue's owners for getting these important tests done.

March 13-14
Holly made a somewhat inauspicious debut at the New England Sporting Dog show in Fitchburg, MA, competing in puppy sweepstakes and regular breed judging both days. She wasn't thrilled with the experience, and after holding it together in her first sweepstakes class, managed to get herself excused from breed judging by slipping out of her show lead and running out of the ring. The second day was better, if only because she didn't escape. Holly is an independent little imp.
Congratulations to Ch. Pennylane's Taylor Made for winning Best of Breed both days and to Briallu Happy Cappy for his Winners Dog and Best of Opposite sex wins.
January 9-11, 2009
Elena won her veteran sweepstakes class at the American Spaniel Club show in King of Prussia, PA, shown by Rachel. It was her first time out as a veteran, and she has never shown better. Caroline took 2nd in her Open Junior Showmanship class with Mika.
